Monday continued...

Well, for not having any sort of plans at all while I am here ... we seem to be busy! We decided to be lazy around the house until Farmor came around noon. The weather was a bit colder today so in the mid-50's with a very chilly wind. As long as you stood in the sun (which wasn't often due to the cloud cover) it wasn't so bad but really it was a day to stay inside for the most part.

As I mentioned before, the heat was a little slow to warm up the house in the evening so Ingvar and Staffan (Ingvar's youngest son who is a few years younger than me) decided to drop by in about an hour to check on the heating system. Farmor decided to make "dinner" of meatballs and scallop potatoes for when the men arrive. Maybe she meant lunch but no one was really hungry. Linnea and I had just eaten lunch and I think the boys had just done so too.


Anyway, it was the first time seeing Staffan who also brought his youngest son Vincent with him. Vincent has a birth defect that I can't remember what the medical term is right now. It causes him to grow fast but he speech is delayed. I am not sure but I think he might be a little mentally delayed as well? He doesn't speak much and uses some sign language. He is a funny boy though and Linnea quite enjoyed his company.

I got a lesson on how to control the heat in the house and then they left the house to get on with their day. We decided it was time to go to the bank and see if I can get money out. The good news is there was no problem with the cash machine! At least if I get in a pinch again, that is a good option. Then we decided to head to Ljusdal which is about a 15 minute drive from Jarvso. It is a little bigger town with more shopping options. It is also where Bjorn & Carro (Bjorn is Maj & Ingvar's oldest son who is a few years older than me) live as well as Staffan & Lena too. Lots of their family live in this town as well so it is very convenient for them.

We first take a break and stop for coffee and goodies ("fika" in Swedish) and get some sugar into Linnea. I don't think she slept very well as she was tired and grumpy all day. Then we headed to "Coop" which is a bigger grocery store that also has some home goods as well. We looked for curtains but didn't find any. We bought some plastic mixing bowls and two plastic plates for the kids. We bought some groceries as well but since we just went yesterday, it wasn't much.

After that we decided to see if Bjorn & Carro were home (they weren't) and then stopped in at Staffan's house who was home. Lena was there with Eddie (their oldest son) who was playing with a cousin (Lena's brother's son) and Vincent was there too. Linnea loved the trampoline and playing on the swing set. They had lots of toys to play with too!

It was time to head home and eat dinner which was leftover meatballs and potatoes for me and a chicken nugget, flat bread with nutella and carrots for Linnea. Farmor returned home again so we are on our own again tonight. After dinner we decided to clean the kitchen after our company was here. Well, that was an adventure too. Figuring out the vacuum which we came to find out ... it was the outlet that didn't work. Once we plugged it into an outlet that had power, there was no problems.

We were both tired and went to bed at 9pm.
