Birthday Party in Bollnas

Ok, I have gotten behind on posts so I am going to have to go back and try to remember everything. That will be fun because it might be a little fuzzy due to all the wine I drank. ;)
We didn't get photos of the dinner but we did get one of the cakes.
The green one is the Prinsesstarta and the one in front is the Bollnas Cake
We had a great family dinner at Farmor's house in Bollnäs where everyone came to celebrate my birthday a day early. Anna was late because she had gone to visit her mother.

Anyway, we had take out "China Tai" which made me a bit nervous since the Asian food here is not very good. Well, apparently Thai food is somewhat new to the area and Farmor remembered that Davin's favorite food is rice which is also hard to come by in Sweden. At least good rice according to our family. If you want fluffy Uncle Ben's type of rice ... no problem. Sticky Japanese rice? Yeah, that is a lot harder. The good news? Davin loved the food! Linnea didn't like it at all and we sat there wondering who switched our kids. For me, the food was mostly Swedish "Chinese" food tasting but there was one dish I liked and it was Panang Curry (a Thai dish) or at least it had the taste of it.

Then we finished the evening with cake! We had a Swedish "Prinsesstårta" which is very sweet and the kids loved it. Plus another cake that Farmor said was a "Bollnas Cake". I liked it better as the tart raspberries balanced some of the sweetness of the meringue frosting. Anyway, on to the photos!

We actually divide the rose into 5 pieces so it is fair for all the kids.
