Worried

So, it has been a week and I finally got around to calling the doctor. I am just being paranoid about the pregnancy. I still don't feel pregnant except for being tired and hungry but I guess those can be big enough signs for most. I just worry about another ectopic pregnancy since my first (June 2003) ended up that way. I had no symptoms for that one except some spotting which quickly turned to bleeding. Luckily it was caught early and it was still small enough for methotrexate which means I didn't have to have surgery or loose any tubes.

I was just starting to remember what my last pregnancy was like and my boobs were definitely sore and they started testing my blood right away. I think because my doctor wasn't in the office when I got confirmed and they didn't pull my chart, I am on a normal schedule for testing. My first appointment with the nurse is on 1/4 but I have a call in to the on-call doctor to make sure that is still okay.

It is hard to be pregnant around the holidays because everyone knows I drink and it is pretty suspicious if I don't. I played off my stomach flu thing over Christmas and everyone seemed to buy it -- knock on wood. I even tried drinking just a little to appear normal but even that tiny amount made me feel very ill. We shall see how New Year's goes -- at least the friend hosting is aware of my situation.

I am not telling ANYONE until I at least get confirmation the baby is in my uterus. So far, two very close friends know but that is it. It is hard not to announce it to the world since we wanted it so much but at the same time I am constantly filled with worry that something is wrong. So, until the next time....

Has it really been that long?

I haven't blogged in a while and just realized it. It is easy to forget about this place but some friends have reminded me of it so here I am. I am going to experiment with the privacy options so this will be interesting I hope.

Let's see what's been happening...

I had a great Thanksgiving despite all the family drama that led up to it. If anyone is reading this from my mom's family -- dinner will be at my house next year!

We had a wonderful California vacation at for the first two weeks of Dec. We stayed in Mountain View from 11/29 to 12/7 where Fredrik got to work at the home office for a week so we can get free hotel and car rental. It makes vacationing quite a bit cheaper! We had fun getting together with friends and I highly recommend the Children's Museum in San Jose! Definitely going there again!

Then from 12/8 to 12/11 we were in Solvang to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe it has been that long but it has! We picked this particular destination because one of our first trips as a married couple (not technically our honeymoon since we consider the trip to Vienna that we took just before we got married our honeymoon) was to the 1997 Toad the Wet Sprocket benefit concert in Santa Barbara. Good times, good memories! Solvang is where I can use our timeshare and it is pretty close to SB so we took a day to drive out there. I just wish the weather coorperated with us a bit better as it was gray and raining. Still, I got to see Toad's old manager, Joe Lyons, at his groovy restaurant called the Beachbreak Cafe. Stop by there if you are in the area. Joe is a great guy and makes some killer breakfasts.

Solvang is a cute little town too and it reminds me of Leavenworth in the summer. Instead of being German -- everything is Danish. Either way it was bad for my waistline! We had our anniversary dinner at the New Danish Inn and it was delicious! It was fortunate that they were pretty kid friendly for being a "nice" restaurant. My favorite bakery was the Danish Mill Bakery and my least was the Solvang Bakery.

After we came home I realized how much of December is spent on getting ready for the holidays so I was severely behind on everything. The big wind storm didn't help matters either as we were out of power for 2.5 days and then Davin and I got some stomach flu on top of it! YUK.

So, I will try to post more later and more often...

It's confirmed!

So, the doctor's office appointment went well and the results were not a surprise -- still pregnant! Of course, my doctor wasn't in the office to share the good news with but she knows we are trying. I just had my annual last month and I told her we have been casually trying since July. All that means is that we are off any birth control (which isn't much for us usually) and not being concerned about charting ovulation or anything. Our timing the last few months has been awful so we aren't surprised nothing has happened. So, what do you know -- the very next month after talking to the doctor, we get pregnant!

I find it funny that it happened during the same time of the year when we conceived Davin which means a birthday about the same time too. I know exactly when Davin was conceived because it was the only time that month we got "busy". It is the same thing this time because we got frisky around our anniversary this year too. We have a few more dates to work with but it is still fairly certain when "IT" happened.

It's positive!

Today was my due date for my period and I have been super hungry lately -- especially around midnight every night! There don't seem to be any other symptoms except that I appear to get ill every time I drink. I though it was because I was catching whatever stomach/diarrhea bug that Davin had but I am pretty sure now of the reason why. I had my husband stop by on his way home and pick up a home pregnancy test, I peed on the stick that night after Davin went to bed and it came up with a definite positive!

Fredrik and I were watching with eager anticipation as the results were showing and once we saw the "+" sign -- we nearly squealed with delight! I guess I will be off to the doctor's office tomorrow for a confirmation.

The online predictor says August 31, 2007 as the estimated due date! According to my last measured period date (Nov.19.2006) I am about 4.5 weeks along.
