Has it really been that long?

I haven't blogged in a while and just realized it. It is easy to forget about this place but some friends have reminded me of it so here I am. I am going to experiment with the privacy options so this will be interesting I hope.

Let's see what's been happening...

I had a great Thanksgiving despite all the family drama that led up to it. If anyone is reading this from my mom's family -- dinner will be at my house next year!

We had a wonderful California vacation at for the first two weeks of Dec. We stayed in Mountain View from 11/29 to 12/7 where Fredrik got to work at the home office for a week so we can get free hotel and car rental. It makes vacationing quite a bit cheaper! We had fun getting together with friends and I highly recommend the Children's Museum in San Jose! Definitely going there again!

Then from 12/8 to 12/11 we were in Solvang to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe it has been that long but it has! We picked this particular destination because one of our first trips as a married couple (not technically our honeymoon since we consider the trip to Vienna that we took just before we got married our honeymoon) was to the 1997 Toad the Wet Sprocket benefit concert in Santa Barbara. Good times, good memories! Solvang is where I can use our timeshare and it is pretty close to SB so we took a day to drive out there. I just wish the weather coorperated with us a bit better as it was gray and raining. Still, I got to see Toad's old manager, Joe Lyons, at his groovy restaurant called the Beachbreak Cafe. Stop by there if you are in the area. Joe is a great guy and makes some killer breakfasts.

Solvang is a cute little town too and it reminds me of Leavenworth in the summer. Instead of being German -- everything is Danish. Either way it was bad for my waistline! We had our anniversary dinner at the New Danish Inn and it was delicious! It was fortunate that they were pretty kid friendly for being a "nice" restaurant. My favorite bakery was the Danish Mill Bakery and my least was the Solvang Bakery.

After we came home I realized how much of December is spent on getting ready for the holidays so I was severely behind on everything. The big wind storm didn't help matters either as we were out of power for 2.5 days and then Davin and I got some stomach flu on top of it! YUK.

So, I will try to post more later and more often...
