4th of July - Fireworks!

After we ate burgers and hotdogs it was time to go outside and light some fireworks! We actually found a store that is right next to Farmor's house that sells fireworks. They aren't usually open this time of year but they were there and let Fredrik into the warehouse to buy some. He said it was like the Costco version of fireworks. Or maybe what it is like buying fireworks at the reservation. They had every kind imaginable and from small ones to REALLY big ones too. He just bought a small package that he thought would be fun for the kids. Then it was time for dessert and then the party was pretty much over. It really was a great day!
We had a good viewing area on the lawn in front of our house. It is raised up just a little.
Fredrik starts the show! It was a bunch of kiddie fireworks for the most part but the oldest kids (Davin, Linnea and Ebbe) had a blast lighting them.
A rock made for a good, safe place to view the fireworks from.
Fredrik lights a bottle rocket which I am pretty sure are illegal in WA state. I haven't seen one in years.
The boys light some fireworks.
Linnea decides some are just too bright and needs my sunglasses.
Ebbe is excited for cake!
Tada! I made banana bread and one I decorated with coconut whipping cream so it was safe for Davin to eat. Plus, the main cake which was a sugar cake, whipping cream and berries. So delicious!
After our dessert it was time for the entertainment hour.
Ebbe was superb at showing us all his great dance moves.
I encouraged Linnea to show everyone a part of a silly song she learned in Glee Club this year.
To get the kids to wind down, we let them watch Looney Tunes on the couch.
It was 10:30pm or 11pm before the last people left.
