Friday at Stenegård & Thunderstorm

We weren't sure what to do today but all we knew is that we should stop by the tourist agency and ask them! I knew Vicki & Paul wanted to go for a hike in the woods but I thought it would be best to wait for them to arrive and have them ask since I didn't know exactly what they were looking for. We saw the same gal who came to evaluate our house and she gave them some great tips on hikes. One of the trails started at Stenegård and that worked for us since we weren't interested in joining them (Fredrik's foot is still sore to walk on) but we could wait and have the kids play until they were done.
The horse carriage ride.
We had been several times but this was a nice day (19C or 66F) and the sun was out. The last two times I was there it was either very cold (midsummer 9C or 48F) or really warm (Moläta 30C or 86F) so this seemed to be the perfect weather. We sent Vicki & Paul off with a map and in the right direction while we enjoyed the "Children's Stenegård" and the horse carriage ride.

We were quite hungry so we decided to get a late lunch while we waited for Vicki & Paul. Well, it turns out that they got a little lost so it took them a little longer to find their way back to us. They arrived just in time for the rain. It wasn't bad at that point but enough to go inside instead of outside to eat. They grabbed a quick lunch too and then we decided to look around a little before doing something else. Well, the weather decided for us because as we got to the courtyard ... the rain started to downpour! This was a very hard and fast rain and the raindrops here are HUGE! We took shelter in one of the buildings and decided to look around until the rain stopped. It was quite unusual to have the thunderstorm go on for so long and with so much rain. The shopkeepers were quite happy to have us stranded there.

Eventually, the rain did let up and we headed back to the house since waiting out the thunderstorm pretty much took care of our day. We had asked Farmor to come over around 6pm to babysit the kids so we could go out to dinner. We chatted for a bit before we headed out and it also took us some time to decide where to go. We eventually settled on Condis right here in Jarvso. It was a very good meal and we had some great conversations too.
The view from the horse drawn carriage.
I am enjoying the ride!
The church is in the background and the little gazebo/stage where the midsummer singing and dancing was. The kids barely recognized the place because both times the area was full of people and food stands.
Linnea tried the stilts in the Children's area...
Davin took a turn too but it was pretty hard!
The kids spent a lot of time in the woodworking cabin. Not sure what Davin is building...
Linnea made an airplane.
We stopped for lunch at the cafe. We were amused at the birds helping themselves to the leftovers at the table next to us.
The thunderstorm rolling in...
We are hiding out in one of the buildings that have a few shops inside.
Linnea enjoyed a book which we ended up buying.
My delicious meal at Condis! It was Arctic Char which was new for me. It was sort of a blend between salmon and trout? Anyway, it was really good!
After dinner, I saw the fields steaming/fogging up after the heavy rain.
Enjoying good conversations!
