Happy July 1st!

It is hard to believe we have been here over two weeks already and it is JULY! Time flies by... The good news? It finally feels like summer today! The weather the past few days has been a bit warmer than in the past (it got to 14C or 57F on Saturday) but it has been rain, rain, and more rain. Yesterday was a good day to spend inside as it was 15C or 59F but a LOT of rain. According to the weather report, there was 23mm or 0.9" of rain yesterday. I don't know how accurate that report was but it was pretty yucky outside.

Today was about 20C or 68F and SUNNY which is a nice change from the past two weeks. I was reading on Facebook about how it was in the upper 80's back home. That is a tad on the warm side for me and while it is nice in small amounts ... I will take the 68 degree weather anytime.
Sunshine & 68F! The kids practiced shooting arrows in our front yard.
Farmor came over to visit today so we didn't get much furniture built as we planned but that was okay. We decided to head into town and eat lunch since it was getting really nice outside. We tried a new place this time called "Restaurang Öje" and they serve a little of everything it seems. Davin had a PB&J that we made, Farmor had pizza, Linnea had spaghetti with meat sauce, Fredrik had sweet & sour chicken (Chinese) and I had a plank cooked salmon with mashed potatoes and cream sauce. It was decent food and I also tried a new drink too! It is something I thought tasted close to ginger ale but without the ginger flavor. Yeah, it was weird but not bad really either. A true Swedish concoction! It was Trocadero! (Yeah, I had to learn about it on Wikipedia too)

My first Trocadero!
Linnea enjoying her spaghetti ... one noodle at a time.
My salmon with mashed potatoes and dill cream sauce with shrimp.
I decided that it would be nice to walk through the town since I haven't had a chance to do it yet. The weather hasn't been accommodating! Fredrik wanted to buy a smaller BB gun that might be easier for Linnea and that was at the end of the street. I stopped in most of the shops along the way and found some interesting things. There was a clothing shop clearancing out last seasons inventory so everything was on sale. I wasn't in the mood for clothes shopping (and well, I rarely wear anything else but kika these days anyway) so we just chatted with the store owner a bit. Then we stopped at a "home" store where they sold fabrics for covering lampshades and chairs. They also made cutting boards and trays using the same fabric too. It was fun to see some handcrafted items. The guy in the shop was recovering an arm chair and he had a finished couch loaded into a truck.

We also stopped for ice cream for the kids, a flower shop, a camera shop (Farmor went to school with the owner) and the hardware store. We bought a few things at the hardware store but mostly it was fun to look at all the stuff there. Like most stores ... they had a little of everything.
Happy girl with vanilla ice cream with sprinkles!

Then home again to try out the new BB gun (in the back yard) and also to shoot arrows (in the front yard). We truly have a country home in the boonies. Haha! Fredrik was in charge of photos again today so there are a lot!

Another good one with the arrow in mid air.
Happy boy!
