Two Weeks Left

Gosh, I really can't believe how fast the time has gone already. I have been here for a whole month already? It doesn't feel like it. Although, I am starting to feel like I am living here now that the house is mostly furnished and I have gotten used to driving (and passing all the slow drivers on the road). Even rolling my eyes at the tourists taking photos of our "Welcome to Jarvso" sign. Hmm ... maybe I should do that too? Haha.

So now we just have two weeks left before we head back home and go back to our normal life. The light here still throws me off and I think it is a lot earlier than it really is. I might not ever get used to it really.
Linnea really enjoyed her ice cream! It was all over her face.
Today we picked up Linnea from Farmor and we met them at a place called "Träslottet" which means "Wooden Castle" in Swedish. It is a historic place where some big farmhouses were built in the early 1800's. The whole area is well known for these type of farmhouses and some of them have been designated as a World Heritage Site. It also has a cafe that we ate "fika" and a playground for kids. I have noticed how different Swedes are with their children. Most sat outside next to the cafe enjoying their "fika" and the kids were allowed freedom to play and come and go as they please. I notice more parents hovering over their kids at playgrounds in America. We have to make sure kids don't run away or fall down or get bullied by other kids. Maybe we can learn to be more Swedish and let kids play and entertain themselves? :)

The kids played a bit and then it was time for us to do our shopping. We had a few blinds to exchange (again) because we have three windows and one of the blinds didn't match. It had a reflective side which was a great idea but it also made it about 3x as expensive too. It was nice to just get cash back for the item. I expected store credit. Then we went to Ã…hlens which is a department store that has a bit of everything. We had gift cards from Farmor to spend. She gave them to us as a birthday present. We bought all sorts of decor and a few clothing items for Davin. His summer wardrobe is sorely lacking. It doesn't help that he doesn't like to wear shorts because he likes them to cover his knees. That style is big here so it is easier to find.

Then we had dinner at Farmor's and visited with Jan's sister ... Inga. She was visiting for a few days so it was great to see her too on this visit. I don't think we saw her on our last trip so it has been 5-6 years. Then it was time to go home.
Davin had 2 options for ice cream here which was great so he tried both.
Raspberry and Passion Fruit sorbet. He preferred Raspberry. Inga (Jan's sister) is enjoying her "fika"
Hello Farmor!
Davin on the tire swings. Pretty common type of swing here.
The kids had a lot of fun on this rope zipline.
