Furuvik

Fredrik woke up on Saturday with a sore foot and at the end of the day, he could barely walk. We found out later that it is probably his shoes causing it as it happens every so often. He also refuses to see a doctor so I am glad I can tell him to have his mom (a doctor) take a look at it. I will probably try to have him see Davin's foot doctor when we get home. They have the same flat feet and  it really is no wonder Fredrik seems to have problems. So, he stayed home on Sunday to rest his foot.

The plan for today was to go to Furuvik which is a zoo/amusement park that is very popular. It is a 2 hour drive (the same drive to go to IKEA) which I decided to do anyway since our kids have been looking forward to this place. When our kids spent the night with Farmor, she took them to Erik & Anna's house and spent the night. They live about 30 minutes away from Furuvik so our kids had already been one time already with Farmor. However, they focused on seeing the animals and with Linnea, the weather was nice enough to enter the waterpark. Erik had told the kids that maybe we could all go again so they could do all the rides. That meant that we had to go again!

We decided to go on a Sunday since Anna has to start working on Monday. We figured it would be crowded but it actually wasn't. The weather was cloudy and there was a little rain so I think most people decided to stay home. The weather report said it got to 24C or 75F which is pretty warm so the weather was actually pretty great even if it sprinkled now and again. Nothing to us Seattleites! We also met up with Cattis & Patrik so it was really a perfect day. Davin and Ebbe could go on all the big kid rides together and all the little kids were together. Davin said it was his "best day ever!" and wanted to go there everyday.

We did make a quick visit to the Rainforest exhibit as they had a gift shop that the kids wanted to shop at. I bought Linnea a baseball cap that she has been wanting ever since she saw Ebbe wear one. Then it was rides, rides and more rides!
Tiny monkeys - pygmy marmoset
Iguanas?
Turtle!
Watch out Sweden! There is a new driver on the road!
Vidar behind the wheel.
Erik has to go with Liv since she is too small to go on rides by herself.
Linnea's favorite ride ... the caterpillar rollercoaster.
Erik squished into one of the kiddie rides.
Linnea got the flying dragon!
The teacups were very popular!
Oh no! She has her own wheels now that she can control!
In the middle of the afternoon, they put on a sort of circus/clown act that Linnea enjoyed watching.
Erik went on this insane ride called "Extreme". He said it was GREAT!
We all just sat and had coffee while we watched him risk his life.
The kids loved this little bouncing ride.
Linnea has a future in babysitting. She pushed Mia around for a long time as we were leaving the park. She played with her, fixed her shoes, gave her something to drink and more. Right now she works for candy and ice cream!
Goodbye Furuvik!
